About The Position

Mixlab is seeking an Overnight Verification Pharmacist to verify the quality and accuracy of medications for veterinary patients. The role is suited to a pharmacist passionate about animal health who works well in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. The scheduled hours are Monday through Friday, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.; weekend shifts are not required. A $3 shift differential applies to all hours worked during the overnight shift.

Requirements

Current pharmacist licensure in New York State and good standing with all applicable State Boards of Pharmacy.
Strong clinical knowledge and confidence independently reviewing and verifying prescriptions.
Excellent attention to detail and high standards for accuracy and quality.
Ability to work independently and stay focused during an overnight shift.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate as a team player.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced work environment and remain calm under pressure.
Ability to meet script-verification goals while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Ability to learn and adapt to new processes and procedures.
Strong ownership and accountability.
Comfort with a consistent Monday-through-Friday overnight schedule, 11 p.m. to 7 a.m.

Nice To Haves

At least 2 years of pharmacist experience (preferred).

Responsibilities

Review and perform final verification of prescription orders for accuracy, completeness, and clinical appropriateness.
Verify medication selection, strength, dosage, directions, route of administration, and patient-specific considerations.
Review veterinary prescriptions with attention to species-specific requirements, weight-based dosing, and medication safety.
Identify prescription discrepancies and contact appropriate internal teams to obtain clarifications.
Ensure prescriptions comply with applicable federal and state pharmacy regulations, professional standards, and Mixlab Standard Operating Procedures.
Document prescription reviews, clinical interventions, and prescription clarifications accurately.
Maintain timely and accurate flow of prescription orders through the overnight verification process.
Communicate workflow issues, concerns, and prescription errors to appropriate pharmacy leadership.
Coordinate with daytime pharmacy teams to transition outstanding orders and issues requiring follow-up.
Maintain productivity while meeting Mixlab’s standards for accuracy, quality, and patient safety.
Support quality assurance through internal and external reporting and contribute to continuous improvement of pharmacy processes.
