Weekend/Overnight Animal Care Companion
About The Position
Veterinary United is seeking an overnight Animal Care Companion to join the Animal Activity Center team and provide individual care to boarding guests. The role is part of a team focused on patient, client, and team experience and on improving dog boarding through teamwork, positivity, and a supportive culture. The position includes maintaining clean and sanitary animal areas, caring for animals through walking, exercise, and play, and assisting clients with pet drop-offs and pick-ups. The companion also provides pet owners with updates about their animals’ condition and behavior during their stay.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds without restriction.
- Comfort working around potentially reactive animals.
- Availability to work Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
- Ability to walk, stoop, reach, kneel, and run as needed.
Responsibilities
- Clean and disinfect kennels, cages, and common areas.
- Wash and sanitize food and water bowls.
- Launder animal bedding and towels.
- Walk, exercise, and play with animals to provide physical activity and mental stimulation.
- Greet and assist clients dropping off or picking up their pets.
- Provide pet owners with updates on their animal’s condition and behavior during the stay.
- Clean and scrub kennels multiple times daily.
