About The Position

The Overnight Valet Attendant, described in the posting as a Guest Service Associate, provides attentive, friendly, and efficient hospitality services to guests. The role parks and retrieves guest vehicles safely and promptly and may assist with luggage during arrivals and departures. The position works overnight and is part-time, with the potential to become full-time later. The stated hourly base pay is $17 plus tips. Employees may perform most duties outdoors for extended periods, including potentially an entire shift, and may be exposed to extreme heat and cold. Travel of up to 5% may be required.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid driver’s license for the state of application, or within a commutable distance from that state, as applicable.
One month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
Ability to read and write standard English and understand simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
Ability to write simple correspondence and present information effectively in one-on-one and small-group situations.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic, including calculations with American money.
Ability to understand 24-hour and military time systems and rates applicable to elapsed time.
Ability to perform parallel parking.

Responsibilities

Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests, co-workers, and clients; greet guests within five feet and use guests’ last names.
Use the salutation of the day, welcome guests, follow proper phone etiquette, and remain in designated areas when not completing tasks.
Park and retrieve vehicles slowly and cautiously; assist with bell services and luggage storage as needed; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about facility outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions.
Deliver messages, items, or guest amenities as requested and shuttle guests to location-approved destinations.
Explain parking rates and vehicle retrieval procedures; issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys.
Complete and maintain vehicle ticket information, including key tags, guest folios, vehicle locations, damage surveys, and claim-check receipts; complete vehicle locations on key tags after parking.
Calculate and collect revenue for vehicles when needed.
