About The Position

The Guest Service Associate provides attentive, friendly, and efficient hospitality services to hotel guests. The role parks and retrieves guest vehicles safely and promptly and assists with luggage services during arrival and departure when applicable. The position is based at Hilton Austin and has a standard shift of 11:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m.; scheduling depends on hotel business volumes, and open availability is recommended. The role pays $17 per hour plus daily cash tips. The attendant welcomes and assists guests, provides information and directions, handles vehicle and claim-check procedures, and supports bell services and other guest requests. Most work is performed outdoors for extended periods, potentially for the entire shift, with exposure to extreme heat and cold. Travel of up to 5% may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Valid driver’s license for the state of employment, or within a commutable distance of that state, as applicable.
• One month of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services.
• Ability to read and write standard English, understand simple instructions and correspondence, write simple correspondence, and present information in one-on-one and small-group situations.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide using three-digit numbers and units of American money; understand 24-hour and military time systems and rates based on elapsed time.
• Ability to perform parallel parking.
• Ability to meet the stated physical requirements, including standing or sitting for extended periods, and exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally, 50 pounds frequently, or 20 pounds constantly.

Nice To Haves

• Ability to operate a manual transmission is highly desirable.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a pleasant, friendly, and professional demeanor with guests, coworkers, and clients; acknowledge and greet guests within five feet and use guests’ last names.
• Use the appropriate daily salutation, welcome guests, follow Towne Park phone etiquette, and remain in designated areas when not completing tasks.
• Park and retrieve vehicles slowly and cautiously; assist with bell services and luggage storage as needed; open vehicle and hotel doors for guests.
• Assist guests with directions, taxis, reservations, and other inquiries; provide information about hotel outlets, meeting rooms, amenities, and local attractions.
• Deliver messages, items, and guest amenities as requested, and shuttle guests to approved locations.
• Explain parking rates and vehicle retrieval procedures to guests upon arrival.
• Issue claim checks after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks before returning keys.
• Complete and maintain vehicle ticket information, including key tags, guest folios, vehicle locations, damage surveys, and claim-check receipts; record the location on each key tag after parking.
• Calculate and collect vehicle revenue when needed.
