30 Hours Overnight Support Counselor/Direct Support Professional
About The Position
The Arc of Somerset County is hiring a 30-hour Overnight Support Counselor/Direct Support Professional to support individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities at locations in Hillsborough and Bridgewater, Somerset County. The role is listed for a female candidate and pays $18.91 per hour. A valid New Jersey driver’s license and a high school diploma or GED are required. One year of experience providing direct services to people with developmental disabilities is preferred. The position focuses on ensuring consumers’ safety and providing personal care, supervision, counseling with guidance from the Manager, medication administration, and training in daily living skills. It also includes maintaining documentation, completing reports and logs, attending meetings, and performing assigned household maintenance. Responsibilities
- Ensure the overall safety of consumers.
- Maintain accurate documentation of occurrences during the shift.
- Attend weekly meetings with the Residential Manager to discuss consumers and related matters.
- Supervise and assist consumers with morning activities, including hygiene, clothing selection, and dressing for work.
- Train consumers in daily living skills.
- Perform assigned household maintenance, such as laundry, mopping, dusting, and appliance cleaning, as directed by the Supervisor or overnight checklist.
- Complete assigned reports and logs.
- Attend scheduled meetings, including meetings with the Manager to discuss consumers and related matters.
- Supervise and assist consumers with late-night activities, including recreation.
- Provide personal care assistance to consumers during overnight shifts.
- Provide counseling to consumers with guidance from the Manager.
- Administer consumers’ medication according to accepted procedures.
