About The Position

The Overnight Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning, sanitizing, and maintaining all public spaces throughout the hotel during overnight hours to ensure a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for guests and team members. This position plays a vital role in preserving the hotel's appearance and standards of excellence while minimizing disruption to guests.

Requirements

  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards.
  • Ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals, equipment, and supplies.
  • Basic English communication skills sufficient to understand safety instructions and interact with guests and team members.
  • Ability to maintain productivity and quality standards during overnight operations.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous janitorial, custodial, housekeeping, or public area cleaning experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial cleaning products, equipment, and safety procedures preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean and sanitize public restrooms, including sinks, toilets, urinals, mirrors, counters, walls, partitions, vents, and flooring using approved cleaning products and procedures.
  • Clean, polish, and maintain metal fixtures and surfaces throughout the property.
  • Empty trash and recycling receptacles and replace liners as needed.
  • Sweep, vacuum, mop, scrub, wax, and polish floors using commercial cleaning equipment, including floor scrubbers, buffers, and vacuum cleaners.
  • Dust and clean walls, ceilings, light fixtures, vents, and other high-reach areas, including the use of ladders when necessary.
  • Clean windows, blinds, and other public area fixtures to maintain a professional appearance.
  • Move furniture, equipment, and other items as needed to thoroughly clean assigned areas.
  • Remove stains from carpets, upholstery, walls, and floors using appropriate cleaning methods and chemicals.
  • Maintain cleanliness of hotel lobbies, corridors, elevators, meeting spaces, fitness areas, and other public spaces.
  • Complete deep-cleaning projects and preventive maintenance cleaning tasks assigned during overnight shifts.
  • Report maintenance issues, safety concerns, suspicious activity, and hazardous conditions promptly to management or Security.
  • Assist guests by providing directions, information, and courteous service when needed.
  • Support emergency procedures and provide assistance during emergency situations as directed.
  • Follow all hotel safety policies, OSHA requirements, and proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
