Evening Janitor/Porter
About The Position
The Overnight Housekeeper maintains cleanliness and organization throughout the property during nighttime hours so key areas are clean, stocked, and ready for daily use. The role supports daytime operations through deep cleaning, restocking supplies, carpet cleaning, upkeep of clubhouse and locker room areas, and routine housekeeping duties. The position maintains the locker room, including restrooms, showers, the steam room, and other special facilities and equipment in the Men’s Locker Room. It also transports towels to and from the laundry area, replenishes towels and toiletries, cleans and maintains waste receptacles, performs upholstery cleaning in the Clubhouse and Tennis Clubhouse, and cleans the fitness center. The employee may also perform other duties needed for the effective operation of the club. The schedule is either 8:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. or 6:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m. Morning availability on Monday is preferred, and hours may vary with operational needs. The role requires lifting up to 50 pounds and standing for extended periods, with frequent walking, lifting, bending, stooping, and squatting.
Requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods; frequent standing, walking, lifting, bending, stooping, and squatting are required.
- Ability to operate cleaning equipment and maintain high cleanliness standards.
- Knowledge of cleaning procedures and safety protocols.
- Ability to keep the work area organized and work efficiently.
- Ability to work independently.
- Friendly, approachable manner and ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.
Nice To Haves
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred, but not required.
- Prior housekeeping experience preferred.
- Morning availability on Monday preferred.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a clean and organized locker room, including restrooms and showers.
- Monitor and replenish towels, toiletries, and other supplies.
- Transport towels to and from the laundry area.
- Empty, clean, and maintain garbage cans and waste baskets.
- Clean and maintain the steam room and other special facilities and equipment in the Men’s Locker Room.
- Clean upholstery on couches and chairs in the Clubhouse and Tennis Clubhouse.
- Clean the fitness center, including vacuuming carpets and mopping floors.
- Perform other duties necessary for the effective operation of the club.
