About The Position

Postpartum Support International (PSI) promotes awareness, prevention, and treatment of mental health issues related to childbearing. PSI supports families, trains providers, and connects families with informed resources. PSI operates the National Maternal Mental Health Hotline, a 24/7 hotline federally funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The Hotline Counselor facilitates daily engagement with people contacting the Hotline, providing psychosocial support, referrals, and resources to pregnant and postpartum individuals, their families, and support systems. In coordination with the Services/Operations and Clinical teams, the Counselor is the primary point of contact for incoming telephone, text, and chat inquiries. This is a fully remote position with a schedule of 40 hours per week: Sunday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, 12:00 a.m. to 8:00 a.m. Eastern. Before starting the agreed-upon shift, the employee must attend two weeks (80 hours) of training, Monday through Friday, either 6:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or 4:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. The role requires providing immediate support and brief interventions, connecting help-seekers with appropriate resources, and documenting cases accurately and promptly in Salesforce.
