About The Position

The Night Auditor/Front Desk Agent is responsible for overseeing all overnight hotel operations. This includes managing guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations, providing excellent customer service, and completing daily financial audits. The role requires ensuring the accuracy of financial reports, maintaining hotel security, and delivering professional and friendly service throughout the night. This position reports to the Front Desk Manager/Director of Front Desk.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Strong numerical skills.
  • Data entry proficiency.
  • Detail orientation.
  • Previous hotel front desk, customer service, or basic bookkeeping experience is highly valued.
  • Ability to work overnight hours (11pm-7am), weekends, and holidays.

Nice To Haves

  • An accounting or hospitality certificate is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Audit and balance credit card transactions, cash drawers, and department receipts.
  • Add nightly room rates, taxes, and incidental charges to guest folios.
  • Initiate the end-of-day (EOD) process on the Property Management System (PMS).
  • Prepare and distribute daily financial and occupancy summaries for management.
  • Investigate and fix bookkeeping errors or system discrepancies before morning.
  • Process late-night check-ins, early check-outs, and walk-in reservations.
  • Respond to customer inquiries, complaints, and service requests.
  • Answer overnight phone calls, route transfers, and schedule wake-up calls.
  • Offer local recommendations and coordinate airport shuttle or taxi services.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for safety, handling emergencies by following established protocols.
  • Inform housekeeping and maintenance teams about room statuses or immediate repairs.
