About The Position

Destination Pet is hiring an Overnight Animal Care Attendant at Rover Kennels in Santa Monica. The role involves hands-on care for pet guests, maintaining clean and safe kennel spaces, and helping pets feel at home. It is an active position that requires standing for the duration of the shift, frequent walking and stair climbing, and lifting up to 40 pounds. The work environment includes exposure to cleaning supplies, pet hair, and animal accidents. Availability on evenings, weekends, and holidays is required. Prior kennel or animal care experience is a plus, but candidates who are new to the field and eager to learn are welcome. The attendant should have a strong love of animals, a calm and professional demeanor, and a willingness to perform hands-on cleaning and care tasks. The position reports to the General Manager.

Responsibilities

Keep pet enclosures and play areas clean, safe, and sanitized.
Provide meals and fresh water to pet guests.
Monitor the health and behavior of each pet, including their waste, and report anything unusual to the General Manager or Assistant Manager.
Supervise pets during playtime and activities.
Assist with brushing and bathing.
Handle laundry and pet belongings to ensure items are clean.
Perform other duties as assigned.
