About The Position

Framatome is hiring an Overall Industrial Architect & Systems Integration Manager to lead systems architecture and integration for industrial projects in a nuclear energy context. The role establishes and deploys systems engineering processes and plans, develops system architecture and requirements, manages traceability, and coordinates technical planning across design, manufacturing, integration, commissioning, and qualification. The position owns system integration, interface management, configuration control, and change management. It ensures technical consistency across disciplines and work packages, manages interfaces with existing facilities, and oversees digital mockups, constructability reviews, and clash detection. The role also defines verification and validation strategies, leads design and compliance reviews, and coordinates evidence demonstrating that system requirements and performance objectives have been met. This role provides technical leadership to multidisciplinary, multi-site teams without direct hierarchical authority, supports decision-making and regulatory compliance, and represents the company to clients on technical matters. It serves as the guarantor of system technical consistency from initial need definition through operational start-up.

Requirements

  • Proven systems engineering experience in a project execution context, including requirements management and traceability, interface management, configuration control, and V&V planning.
  • Experience integrating new process systems within an operating facility, including interface, constructability, and operational continuity constraints.
  • Strong knowledge of industrial or manufacturing processes to constructively challenge suppliers on performance, production capabilities, and acceptance criteria.
  • Ability to maintain a technical baseline under schedule pressure and escalate technically unacceptable proposed changes.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering; degrees in Physics, Engineering Technology, or Engineering Science may also be accepted depending on the position.
  • Minimum of 10 years of related experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of project life cycles, methodologies, and phases.
  • Advanced understanding of a specific engineering discipline.
  • Knowledge of supply chain and procurement practices.
  • Knowledge of budgeting, scheduling, and resource allocation.
  • Skills in stakeholder coordination, team collaboration, and client presentations.
  • Ability to prioritize, track deadlines, and multitask.
  • Root cause analysis, innovative thinking, and adaptability.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the nuclear fuel cycle, radiological processes, or other highly regulated industrial facilities.
  • Knowledge of systems engineering practices per ISO/IEC/IEEE 15288 and INCOSE standards, and of requirements and configuration management tools.
  • Experience in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE), digital mockup, and 3D integration for industrial installations.
  • Experience in design control within a nuclear quality program and interactions with a Design Authority.
  • Experience working in international and multicultural project organizations.

Responsibilities

  • Define, formalize, and deploy program systems engineering processes and plans, including systems engineering, configuration management, interface management, technical data management, and applicable BIM requirements.
  • Propose system architecture and its breakdown, considering cost, schedule, and risk, and align it with the Work Breakdown Structure.
  • Define system performance through needs and technical and functional requirements; establish functional and product architecture, identify interfaces, define system functions, and allocate them to subsystems and equipment.
  • Collect, consolidate, and manage stakeholder requirements covering process performance, safety, security, quality, operations, maintenance, environment, and infrastructure.
  • Own the Requirements Traceability Matrix from high-level needs to detailed equipment specifications and compliance evidence.
  • Lead development of technical specifications and performance requirements for work package owners and execution entities.
  • Assess technical, cost, and schedule risks associated with architecture choices and establish mitigation plans.
  • Define activities and sequence for system design, manufacturing, integration, commissioning, and qualification, and contribute to structuring the work program.
  • Define expected technical content from execution entities through specifications, statements of work, technical appendices, and contractual documents.
  • Ensure consistency among system requirements, development activities, and deliverables throughout the product lifecycle.
  • Define and maintain the overall integration plan and manage physical, functional, organizational, and operational interfaces between stakeholders and work packages.
  • Manage interfaces between new systems and existing facilities, including brownfield interactions with operating installations.
  • Ensure technical consistency across engineering disciplines, arbitrate deviations or inconsistencies, and monitor action plans to resolve integration and interface issues.
  • Oversee technical coordination and the digital mockup, and facilitate constructability reviews and clash detection with engineering teams.
  • Maintain system configuration control and an approved technical baseline at each project milestone; identify the data, documents, and models that constitute the reference configuration.
  • Apply configuration management processes, lead Change Control Boards, review change requests, and coordinate impact analyses involving cost, schedule, safety, quality, and regulatory compliance.
  • Monitor deviations, non-conformities, exemptions, and technical waivers through closure; maintain technical registers, decision logs, and program action plans.
  • Ensure complete, consistent, and usable design documentation is transferred to future operators.
  • Define the Verification and Validation strategy, plan, and system acceptance criteria; plan and lead design, maturity, and technical compliance reviews.
  • Coordinate evaluation of execution-entity deliverables, lead collection and assessment of evidence of system performance, and ensure V&V follows systems engineering processes and program requirements.
  • Ensure consistent acceptance criteria across design, testing, commissioning, qualification, and transition to operations, and consolidate the final compliance matrix.
  • Coordinate multidisciplinary and multi-site teams without direct hierarchical authority while maintaining overall technical coherence.
  • Promote adoption of systems engineering methods, practices, processes, and tools; provide technical arbitration and support stakeholder alignment on major program decisions.
  • Represent the company to clients on technical matters within the assigned scope and support interactions with regulatory authorities and compliance demonstrations.
  • Maintain system technical consistency throughout its lifecycle, from needs definition to operational start-up.
