About The Position
John F. Kennedy Elementary is hiring an Over-Enrollment Education Support Professional to support students and teachers in a collaborative school environment focused on student achievement and well-being. The position is 0.375 FTE, 15 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for 9 months. The starting pay is $18.42 per hour, with payday on the last working day of each month according to the payroll cutoff schedule. Benefits are available only to positions working 20 hours per week or more; this position does not meet that threshold. The role assists teachers with identifying student needs, provides tutorial help, prepares instructional and supplementary materials, keeps records, checks student work, and helps students complete makeup work. It also includes classroom supervision and maintaining student confidentiality. Administration may request that the employee transport students using a personal vehicle. A post-offer criminal background check is required.
Requirements
- Two years of post-high-school education or higher, or the ability to pass a standardized test approved by the state of South Dakota.
- Demonstrated skill using a computer for word processing and data entry.
- Ability to meet the position's stated physical requirements, including coordination, hearing, and intermittent or frequent physical activities.
- Successful post-offer criminal background check.
Responsibilities
- Assist teachers in identifying student needs.
- Provide tutorial assistance for students in all classes.
