About The Position

SouthernCarlson is seeking an Outside Service Technician who enjoys troubleshooting equipment, working directly with customers, and delivering exceptional field service. This role is ideal for individuals with strong mechanical skills who enjoy solving problems and helping customers maximize equipment performance. The technician will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing industrial equipment at customer locations and branch facilities, demonstrating proper equipment operation, and providing maintenance training to customers. They will also manage customer service calls, coordinate outside service schedules, identify opportunities to improve customer operations, and recommend solutions. Processing customer orders, supporting inventory management, and completing necessary documentation such as work orders and time sheets are also key responsibilities. The technician will collaborate with sales teams to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues, while delivering outstanding customer service, maintaining productivity, and working independently to support customers and drive service excellence.

Requirements

  • Experience with machine maintenance, pneumatic tools, or electric power tool repair required
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
  • Customer service and sales-oriented mindset
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to quickly learn and retain technical knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Valid driver's license with satisfactory driving record
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs occasionally

Nice To Haves

  • Construction, packaging, fastening, or industrial supply experience preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred depending on market needs

Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment at customer locations and branch facilities
