About The Position

SouthernCarlson is seeking an Outside Service Representative to perform installation and repair of industrial equipment, which may include electrical, mechanical, and gas engines. The work is completed at customers' sites or branch locations as warranted. This role involves traveling to customer sites to troubleshoot and repair industrial equipment, demonstrating and providing effective equipment operation and daily maintenance training to customers, and taking customer calls. The representative will manage all outside service scheduling, assess opportunities to improve customer sales and present them to the customer, and regularly complete customer orders. The role requires working independently, taking initiative to assist customers with inventory improvements, and completing and submitting appropriate documentation (work orders, parts orders, time sheets, etc.). Communication with the sales team is crucial to ensure customer satisfaction, and problem-solving with the sales team to determine the best resolution to customer issues is expected. The representative will interact with customers, providing the highest levels of service and productivity.

Requirements

  • Machine maintenance, pneumatic or electric power tool repair experience required
  • Strong mechanical skills/abilities required
  • Customer service and sales oriented
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner and able to retain knowledge
  • Basic computer skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds of customer product on a regular basis and up to 100 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Satisfactory driving record and valid driver's license
  • High school diploma or equivalent

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in the construction or industrial supply industry is helpful

Responsibilities
