About The Position

As an Outside Sales Rep at United Rentals, you will serve as the voice and initial point of contact for the company. You will use sales and consultative skills to understand customer needs, build relationships, and convert interested parties into customers. The role focuses on selling equipment and services across a defined geographical territory. Compensation includes a base salary and monthly performance-based commissions, with a minimum monthly guarantee incentive during onboarding and training. This position is designated Safety Sensitive under United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Three years of sales experience.
Exceptional relationship-building and communication skills.
Strong planning, problem-solving, and negotiation abilities.
Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record.

Knowledge of construction or related equipment.

Responsibilities

Maximize revenue from facilities and construction sites within a defined geographical territory.
Maintain and develop relationships with existing customers and their subsidiary companies, serving as a single point of contact.
Prospect and qualify new accounts from existing, dormant, non-customer, and competitor accounts.
Collaborate with specialty division representatives to promote cross-selling to accounts.
Prepare sales action plans and strategies.
Present company products and services to current and potential clients.
Use Sales Force.com and other CRM tools to develop a pipeline of opportunities.
Monitor competitors, market conditions, and product development.
Perform other duties as assigned.
