Outside Sales Engineer
About The Position
An Outside Sales Engineer / Sales Engineer / Technical Sales Engineer is required for a commercial HVAC sales role with a specialist HVAC solutions business. This opportunity is suited to a technically minded sales professional who enjoys building relationships with contractors, engineers, and industry partners while providing practical HVAC solutions. The role focuses on developing customer relationships, supporting project opportunities, and promoting commercial HVAC products including air distribution, packaged equipment, fans, and related HVAC solutions. You will work closely with internal sales teams, estimators, and manufacturing partners to deliver accurate quotations, technical guidance, and responsive customer support throughout the sales process.
Requirements
- Experience in a customer-facing sales, technical sales, or related commercial role
- Experience as an Area Sales Manager, Sales Engineer, Outside Sales Representative, Technical Sales Engineer, Business Development Manager, or similar role
- Technical aptitude and interest in HVAC systems and commercial mechanical equipment
- Ability to read and interpret basic construction drawings and specifications
- Strong relationship-building, communication, and customer service skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based software
- Ability to work independently while collaborating with wider sales and estimating teams
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationships with mechanical contractors, engineers, and industry stakeholders
- Promote and sell commercial HVAC product lines, including air distribution, packaged equipment, fans, and sheet metal products
- Work with estimators to review project documents and support accurate quotations
- Present product options, technical solutions, and value engineering recommendations to customers
- Manage multiple bids and opportunities while maintaining effective follow-up
- Provide technical support and guidance throughout the sales cycle
- Coordinate with manufacturing partners on product selection, pricing, and technical enquiries
- Attend customer meetings, jobsite visits, and training sessions as required
- Maintain accurate records of customer interactions and sales opportunities
