About The Position

Hughes Machinery Company, a division of FCX Performance/an Applied Industrial Technologies Company, has been providing extensive engineering services for boiler and heat transfer, steam production and distribution, and process flow control for commercial, industrial, and utility projects for nearly 100 years. As an Outside Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for growing your territory by bringing in new opportunities and developing repeat business within existing accounts. This role requires a consultative approach to understand the needs and specifications of engineers, contractors, project managers, and other stakeholders. Requirements

  • Experience with boiler, steam, water heating, and thermal transfer systems
  • Proven ability to work with engineers and contractors to identify solutions for project requirements
  • Knowledge of steam-related valves, traps, pumps, controls, instrumentation
  • Computer proficiency including MS office, SAP/ERP/P-21 a plus!
  • Bachelor’s Degree/Equivalent experience may be substituted for degree requirement.

Nice To Haves

  • Hands-on involvement installing/commissioning steam boilers and water heaters a plus
  • Knowledge of air heating and MUA systems a plus

Responsibilities

  • Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by discovering new opportunities.
  • Grow your network of engineers and contractors in your assigned territory.
  • Selling engineered heating/hot water systems within the industrial sector.
  • Achieve sales and profit goals by developing and retaining existing customers and by opening new businesses.
  • Conduct sales and service activities, develop strong customer relationships, identify product applications, and introduce new products and services.
  • Organize and conduct product training sessions for customers.
  • Complete reports regarding itineraries, expenses, sales calls, leads, and other related matters.
