About The Position

United Central Industrial Supply, a SunSource company, is hiring an energetic, self-driven Account Manager for field/outside sales in the St. Louis, Missouri metropolitan area. The role promotes and facilitates the sale of industrial supplies to core and target accounts. The position involves territory planning, customer-site visits, coordinating with branch managers and company personnel, and working with Inventory Control. Overnight travel may be required.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• At least 1 year of industrial outside sales experience.
• Track record of progressive sales accomplishments.
• Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills.
• Computer proficiency.
• Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

• Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, marketing, sales, mechanical engineering, engineering, or a similar field.
• Previous sales experience with hydraulic hose and fittings, industrial hose, safety products (including gas detection, breathing apparatus, and safety MRO), general MRO, lubricants, filtration, electrical products, wire and cable, or communication products.
• Experience selling to mining customers.

Responsibilities

• Plan and research markets to identify opportunities among core and target accounts in each territory.
• Work with branch managers and associated company personnel to promote product lines to core and target accounts.
• Develop territory action plans to capture a major share of core and target business.
• Visit customer sites daily to identify needs, take orders, promote current and new products, and build relationships with mine-level personnel.
• Work with Inventory Control on stock levels, obsolete inventory, and related matters.
