About The Position

This role is for a Registered Nurse in the Outpatient IR Vascular Lab at Ascension St. Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. The nurse will provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic, and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. Responsibilities include assessing, preparing, and positioning patients, performing conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring, preparing and documenting the plan of care, communicating patient condition to the physician, performing and facilitating procedures, and setting up and providing necessary equipment and supplies.

Requirements

BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
Registered Nurse credentialed from the Indiana Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR Required professional licensure at time of hire.
2 years of Interventional Radiology and/or Peri-Procedural Experience required

Responsibilities

Provide direct nursing care to patients undergoing diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab.
Assess, prepare, and position patients for procedures.
Perform conscious sedation and hemodynamic monitoring as necessary.
Prepare, implement, and document plan of care.
Communicate patient's condition to physician before, during and after procedures.
Perform and/or facilitate diagnostic, therapeutic and interventional procedures.
Perform set up and provide equipment and supplies before, during and after procedures.
