About The Position

The Server guides guests through their Hard Rock Cafe experience, acting as a communicator, decision-maker, entertainer, memorabilia curator, and musician at heart. The role includes taking orders, delivering food, processing payments, serving alcohol responsibly, maintaining product knowledge, and creating memorable guest experiences. Servers keep their stations clean and organized, perform opening, closing, and side duties, and help guests navigate the cafe. The position may be cross-trained with the Busser role, with Server Assistant duties rotated among Servers during busy periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Follow all food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Remain calm in a hectic, fast-paced atmosphere.
• Demonstrate strong organization, attention to detail, and a sense of urgency.
• Display a positive and outwardly friendly attitude toward guests.
• Meet any applicable state legal minimum-age requirements for serving food and alcohol.

Responsibilities

• Take guests’ orders and run food.
• Handle cash and other forms of payment, including processing sales using a point-of-sale system.
• Check identification for guests who appear to be under 30 years old.
• Demonstrate responsible alcohol service and follow food safety and sanitation procedures.
• Maintain impeccable product knowledge and use proven suggestive-selling techniques.
• Answer questions accurately and politely.
• Satisfy guests’ needs and regularly check back with them throughout their experience.
• Maintain a clean and organized station, including pre-bussing and table maintenance.
• Perform opening, closing, and side duties, including setting up and breaking down the station, refilling condiments, and cleaning ashtrays.
• Know all table and station numbers and direct guests to areas and restrooms.
• Create memorable experiences and entertain guests to create “Raving Fans.”
• Practice general safety standards, follow uniform guidelines, and maintain a well-groomed appearance.
• Recycle products where possible and uphold HRC’s five core values and mission statement.
• Perform rotated Server Assistant duties, including Busser duties, during busy periods if cross-trained.
