About The Position

The Outdoor Server provides food and beverage service for Ebb & Flow Restaurant areas, Evermore Bay beaches, and cabanas. The role focuses on welcoming guests, anticipating their needs, taking and delivering accurate orders, making menu and beverage recommendations, and responding to requests or concerns professionally. Servers tailor food and drink orders to guest preferences and dietary restrictions and support a positive, attentive guest experience in a resort setting.

The position involves serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining knowledge of menus and beverage offerings, following recipes and service standards, and complying with applicable alcohol-sale and service regulations. Duties also include maintaining clean and stocked work areas, completing opening and closing tasks and side work, processing payments, coordinating with kitchen and bar teams, and helping set up and break down bayside service areas and cabanas. Servers may assist with training, promote offerings, and provide guests with information about resort amenities and activities.

The work takes place indoors and outdoors and requires standing and moving for extended periods, navigating outdoor areas, and lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 25 pounds. The role requires strong customer service, communication, organization, and attention to cleanliness and safety.

Requirements

• High school diploma.
• 2–4 years of hospitality and serving experience; customer-service experience is required, and resort experience is a plus.
• Knowledge of alcoholic beverages and upselling.
• Basic knowledge of food and beverage items and menu offerings.
• Food, alcohol, and safety certifications required under Florida requirements.
• Excellent customer service, written and verbal communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational, problem-solving, and time-management skills.
• Ability to work and multitask in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
• Attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness, hygiene, and service standards.
• Familiarity with point-of-sale systems and basic math skills for handling payments.
• Ability to read safety procedures and operating guidelines.
• Ability to carry trays, navigate outdoor environments, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to safely lift, pull, and push up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, bend, and reach.
• Ability to work in indoor and outdoor environmental conditions.

Responsibilities

• Provide guest service to Ebb & Flow Restaurant areas, Evermore Bay beaches, and cabanas.
• Welcome and engage with guests professionally, anticipate their needs, and respond to inquiries and requests.
• Recommend menu items and beverages, answer questions about offerings, and tailor orders to guests’ preferences and dietary restrictions.
• Accurately take and promptly deliver food and beverage orders, including special requests.
• Serve cocktails, wines, spirits, and non-alcoholic drinks according to recipes and service standards; garnish drinks appropriately.
• Maintain knowledge of menus, ingredients, preparation methods, specials, spirits, wines, liqueurs, and beverage trends.
• Educate guests about beverages and promote applicable specials, pairings, premium drinks, and other offerings.
• Follow applicable local, state, and federal regulations for food and beverage service, including alcohol service; verify drinking age and refuse service when required.
• Recognize signs of intoxication and handle related situations appropriately.
• Handle guest complaints and concerns and seek solutions that support a positive experience.
• Coordinate with kitchen, bar, wait staff, and other team members to support efficient preparation and timely service.
• Set up, stock, clean, and maintain work areas and service stations; complete assigned side work and opening and closing duties.
• Ensure glassware, plateware, silverware, and equipment are clean and in good working condition.
• Process cash and credit card transactions, provide change, and close tabs accurately.
• Provide information about hotel amenities, promotions, and activities.
• Maintain a clean bayside area, clear empty plates, glassware, and debris, and assist with setting up and breaking down poolside stations and cabana equipment.
• Assist in training new servers and staff when required and participate in training and development opportunities.
• Follow company, safety, security, quality, and appearance standards; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Monitor guests’ needs and coordinate with other departments and leaders for additional services such as towels, sunscreen, or water.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
