About The Position

The Resort Municipality of Whistler (RMOW) is seeking qualified individuals for the position of Outdoor Lifeguard within the Recreation department. This role is essential for the Community Centre's summer camp programs, ensuring the safety of participants during swimming and water sports activities at lakes and surrounding areas. When not supervising water activities, the Outdoor Lifeguard will collaborate with Program Leaders to create and facilitate activities for children in a summer camp setting. The position offers approximately 72 hours bi-weekly from June 25, 2026, through September 4, 2026.

Requirements

Fully certified and qualified Lifeguard with current NL, WSI, First Aid and CPR-C certifications.
19 years of age (licensing requirement).
Grade 12 diploma.
Previous experience working with children in a similar role.
Excellent active listening and verbal communication skills.
Knowledge of aquatic-related policy and procedure, water safety and first aid.
Proven lifeguarding skills.
Positive and outgoing individual who enjoys working with children of all ages.
Sound judgment for quick decision making.
Ability to create and maintain effective working relationships with others.
Commitment to promoting a diverse and inclusive workplace.
Satisfactory Police Information Check and Criminal Reference Check (licensing requirement) prior to beginning employment.

Nice To Haves

National Lifeguard Waterfront option is preferred.
A Responsible Adult course is an asset.
