About The Position

Columbus School for Girls (CSG) is an independent day school in Columbus, Ohio, founded in 1898, serving students in grades pre-k through grade 12. CSG empowers girls to discover their distinct potential as learners and leaders. Columbus School for Girls is seeking an energetic and reliable part-time Lifeguard to join our aquatics team.

Requirements

• American Red Cross Lifeguard, CPR, First-Aid, AED certified
• Current lifeguard certification or willingness to get certified or renewed through CSG
• Prior experience is preferred

Responsibilities

• Maintains constant surveillance of patrons in the facility; acts immediately and appropriately to secure safety of patrons in the event of emergency.
• Provides emergency care and treatment as required until the arrival of emergency medical services.
• Maintaining order on the pool deck and in the water
• Monitoring designated areas to recognize signs of danger
• Presents professional appearance and attitude at all times, and maintains a high standard of customer service.
• Enforces the pool rules in an appropriate, fair manner and explains the rationale for the rule(s) when needed.
• Performs various maintenance duties as directed to maintain a clean and safe facility.
• Attends all pool staff and evaluation meetings as requested.
• Be on time and cover all assigned hours.
• If unable to work, the lifeguard will find an approved substitute.
• Prepares and maintains appropriate activity reports.
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
