About The Position

The Outbound Logistics Analyst coordinates and supports outbound transportation from distribution centers to stores. The role works closely with inbound logistics, distribution center leadership, store operations, finance and accounting, and linehaul carriers to support smooth daily operations. It partners with distribution and logistics teams to identify supply-chain issues, facilitate solutions, and provide regular reporting to internal partners. The analyst provides transportation analysis, forecasting, operational reporting, and carrier coordination. The position is based at the home office in Coppell, Texas, with a hybrid schedule: onsite Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and working from home Mondays and Fridays.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience in supply chain, distribution operations, transportation, or a related field.
1–3 years of experience in supply chain, distribution operations, transportation, or a related field.
Experience with freight planning, shipment execution, domestic supply chains, and transportation operations.
Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), yard management systems (YMS), and warehouse management systems (WMS).
Strong analytical skills, problem-solving ability, and effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Experience in transportation management in a retail supply chain, including store deliveries.
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills; experience with Power BI, Access, and PowerPoint.
Ability to develop and optimize carrier routing plans to improve equipment utilization and operational efficiency.
Proven ability to develop and analyze reports to identify trends, recommend business actions, and improve cost and service performance.
Proficiency in planning and executing strategies to address transportation challenges and improve network performance.
Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Experience with freight payment and audit processes and transportation claims management.
Experience using AI tools to automate workflows and streamline processes.
Ability to identify issues and process gaps promptly and directly.

Responsibilities

Provide detailed analysis to guide the Outbound Logistics team’s transportation strategy.
Own weekly outbound volume forecasting to prepare carriers and stores for upcoming delivery volumes.
Use transportation management systems (TMS) and yard management systems (YMS) to develop internal KPIs and actionable reports.
Lead regular operational calls with outbound carriers to review transportation KPI trends, identify issues, and initiate corrective actions and improvements.
Analyze outbound freight-spend trends, monitor performance against the annual budget, and identify cost-saving and cost-avoidance opportunities.
Conduct transportation mode analysis to identify alternative delivery strategies and equipment options, including multi-stop routes, milk runs, and box trucks.
Maintain adequate empty-trailer pools for outbound carriers at all distribution centers while balancing loading needs and yard-capacity constraints.
Coordinate with the Outbound Logistics team to ensure linehaul carriers pick up and deliver loads on time, and handle escalations.
Communicate potential disruptions to daily operations to the Outbound Logistics team and relevant stakeholders, including stores and distribution centers, and participate in problem-solving.
Serve as the primary escalation point for store delivery issues, ad hoc store projects, and transportation failures.
Help create plans to manage transit delays, partnering with store teams to determine appropriate resolutions.
Provide additional analysis and ad hoc reporting as needed by the Outbound Logistics team.
