About The Position

This position serves as the Oslo Administrative Coordinator for the North American Branch Office, reporting to the Head of Office. The role involves recruiting and admitting North American students to the International Summer School (ISS) program with the University of Oslo system and guidelines. It also includes advising students, providing support services, and attending Study Abroad Fairs. Responsibilities extend to managing office operations for the North American Branch Office (NABO), including organizing student lists, working with digital operating systems, collaborating with the Oslo office for public relations and website updates, and communicating with vendors. Additionally, the role involves updating and maintaining the Peace Scholar website. A significant part of the role includes assisting with office and dorm operations in Oslo, Norway, during the ISS session, which involves supporting the dorm manager with student move-ins and move-outs, and potentially substituting for the manager. The coordinator will also work in the main office at the University of Oslo (UiO) with similar responsibilities to the NABO office, coordinating events and activities. The position requires a commitment to supporting diverse backgrounds and completing required training and performance management cycles. Other duties may be assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Hold and maintain a valid passport
  • A working knowledge of Norwegian language and culture
  • Exceptional organizational skills
  • Digital competence

Responsibilities

  • Admit North American Students to the International Summer School (ISS) program with University of Oslo system and guidelines.
  • Advise students from North America and provide support services for both universities and individual students.
  • Attend Study Abroad Fairs for partner universities/colleges.
  • Organize lists of potential, current, and alumni students.
  • Work with multiple, digital operating systems connected with the University of Oslo.
  • Collaborate with the Oslo office for public relations and website updates.
  • Communicate with outside vendors for supplies and advertising.
  • Update and maintain Peace Scholar website.
  • Assist dorm manager with move-in, move-out of students.
  • Substitute for manager at dorm, a limited number of days per week during the ISS session.
  • Work in the main office at the UiO with similar responsibilities to NABO office.
  • Coordinate events/activities and support main office, with varying duties.
