About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Trauma Surgeon to join their staff. Fellowship training is encouraged but not a requirement. This surgeon will have access to an OR for urgent and “cold trauma’ cases in a room reserved for emergent surgery, as well as time allotted for elective trauma reconstructive practice. There are separate call schedules for Spine and Hand. The practice covers one centrally located ER. The role involves joining an established group of Orthopedic Surgeons and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC’s) within the Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. This is an opportunity to become part of a progressive academic health system and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. Responsibilities include general orthopedic call with an orthopedic hospitalist, leveraging a referral base of over 150 Primary Care Clinicians, and utilizing a dedicated OR Trauma Room with full support staff, including APC’s, and interaction with Surgical Residents and Medical Students. Requirements

  • MD, DO or MBBS
  • BC/BE in Orthopedics
  • Completion of an accredited USA residency in orthopedic surgery, successful completion of which results in board eligibility
  • New York Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS Certification Required
  • DEA Required
