About The Position

Bassett Healthcare Network, in central New York, is seeking a BC/BE Orthopedic Total Joint Surgeon to join their staff. The division is looking for a surgeon with fellowship training in total joint arthroplasty to support the focused service line for hip and knee replacement surgery. Bassett is committed to building a superior center for total joint replacement in the upstate New York region. The position does require participation in general call coverage. The surgeon will join an established group of Orthopedic Surgeons and Advanced Practice Clinicians (APC’s) and practice within the Bassett Healthcare Network, an integrated system delivering care across an 8-county region. This is a progressive academic health system and a major teaching affiliate of Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. General Orthopedic Call is required 1:9 days, with a dedicated Hospitalist for weekday coverage and shared call with the whole Physician group. An APC 1st call system is in place. The Joint Replacement Center is located at AO Fox Hospital, a 40-bed acute care hospital. The position offers a referral base of over 150 Primary Care Clinicians and full support staff, including APC’s, with Surgical Residents and Medical Student Interaction. Requirements

  • MD, DO or MBBS
  • BC/BE in Orthopedics
  • Completion of an accredited USA orthopedic fellowship in total joint arthroplasty
  • New York Medical License (or eligibility to obtain)
  • BLS Certification Required
  • DEA Required
