About The Position

Genesis is rebuilding the U.S. healthcare system by addressing a design problem in orthopedic care. They have created an accessibility-first orthopedic model that prioritizes both quality and affordability, operating with the speed of a startup. This private practice is seeking a surgeon who is motivated to build and grow within their innovative model, aiming to relieve existing surgeons of burden and expand patient volume. The role offers a near full case load from day one, with infrastructure to support growth, including APPs, EPIC EMR, and strong referral networks. The position emphasizes potential equity and the opportunity to be a partner in defining the future of orthopedic care.

Requirements

BC/BE in orthopedics (generalist or subspecialist).
Licensed in Illinois or able to obtain licensure.
Operates with an understanding of efficiency, outcomes data, and sustainable unit economics.
Desire to own and build a practice, model, and future.
Belief in improving the healthcare system and a desire to treat all patients regardless of insurance.

Responsibilities

High-volume, high-variety casework across various orthopedic subspecialties (sports medicine, total joint replacement, spine, hand & wrist, shoulder, hip, knee, elbow, foot & ankle, pediatrics, or general orthopedics).
Shaping clinical protocols with a data-obsessed and outcomes-driven team, prioritizing cost reduction.
Engaging in research and product development opportunities to advance the field.
Potentially serving as a team physician for professional sports teams and local institutions.
Participating in practice-building activities, including managing referrals, building relationships, and establishing a community presence.
