About The Position

Riverview Regional Medical Center, a member of Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, Alabama, is seeking an Orthopedic Registered Nurse for its Medical Surgical Acute - 7T department. The nurse provides comprehensive care to patients recovering from surgery, managing acute and chronic illnesses, or undergoing diagnostic procedures. The posting welcomes new graduates.

This is a full-time, day-shift role with hours from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM. A shift differential of $2–$6 is noted. A $15,000 sign-on bonus is available to qualified candidates, subject to eligibility and payout terms discussed during the interview process.

Requirements

• Current and valid state RN license.
• Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintenance of current certification.

Nice To Haves

• Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained as current.
• Previous acute care hospital experience.
• Ventilator management experience.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough initial assessments and ongoing evaluations of patients’ physical, emotional, and mental health.
• Monitor vital signs, intake and output, and other clinical indicators to detect changes in patient conditions.
• Recognize and act on warning signs of deterioration, including changes in heart rate, respiratory rate, or mental status.
• Safely administer prescribed medications by oral, IV, subcutaneous, and intramuscular routes, and monitor for adverse effects or allergic reactions.
• Act as a liaison between patients, families, and the healthcare team to ensure patient needs are met.
• Educate patients about their condition, treatment options, and lifestyle adjustments to support recovery and prevent readmission.
• Communicate with doctors, specialists, physical therapists, and social workers to develop and adjust care plans.
