About The Position

DOCS Health is hiring a part-time Orthodontic Dental Assistant for its state-of-the-art dental practice at Fort Leavenworth, Kansas. The practice is part of Army and Air Force Exchange Services and serves military families and military veterans. It emphasizes a family feel, building relationships with patients, and providing high-quality care.

The assistant prepares patients for dental work, supports orthodontic procedures, maintains dental equipment and instruments, follows infection-control procedures, and completes routine clerical reporting. Candidates must have the required dental assistant credentials and experience. A conditional offer is subject to background checks, including a criminal record check, and drug screening. Requirements

• Current Dental Assistant Radiology License or DANB.
• At least two years of experience.
• X-ray certification.
• Must have or be willing to obtain a Real ID before starting.
• CPR/BLS.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Familiarity with dental software and equipment.

Nice To Haves

• Expanded duty dental assistant qualification.

Responsibilities

• Assist with orthodontic procedures, including tie bands and placing bonding.
• Take impressions when applicable.
• Use iTero scanning and assist with Invisalign, 6 Month Smiles, and standard braces.
• Build rapport with patients.
• Prepare patients for dental work.
• Set up and break down the treatment area, including proper disposal of biohazards.
• Sterilize and disinfect instruments and equipment.
• Follow all infection-control procedures.
• Complete clerical reporting on a daily and monthly basis.
