About The Position

Lyons Specialty Company is hiring dependable, hardworking Order Selectors for its Warehouse Operations Team. This is a full-time, on-site position at the company’s warehouse in Port Allen, Louisiana, typically scheduled Monday through Thursday, beginning at 11:30 AM and continuing until daily operations are complete. Shifts regularly extend into the evening depending on order volume and operational needs, and scheduled days or hours may occasionally change due to holidays, weather, customer demand, staffing, or other business requirements. Order Selectors locate, select, handle, verify, and prepare customer orders for next-day delivery in a fast-paced warehouse. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent movement and handling of cases and products. Team members also help maintain a clean and safe workplace through activities such as breaking down boxes, crushing cardboard, and end-of-shift cleanup. Dependable attendance, punctuality, schedule flexibility, safety, and teamwork are critical expectations. Employees are expected to remain at work until assigned duties and daily operations are complete. Compensation is $15.00 per hour during training, followed by production-based pay upon successful completion of training. Payroll is biweekly by direct deposit. Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Basic math and computer skills.
Reliable attendance and punctuality; must report on time for all scheduled shifts.
Must be willing and able to work until daily operations are complete, including extended shifts when business needs require.
Must accommodate occasional schedule adjustments due to operational needs.
Must have dependable transportation and be able to consistently arrive as scheduled.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to regularly bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and handle warehouse products and materials.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, move, and handle warehouse products throughout the shift.
Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the shift.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures.
Ability to perform warehouse housekeeping duties, including breaking down boxes and crushing cardboard.
Must be able to perform essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation, as permitted by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

High school diploma or GED preferred.
Previous warehouse, order selecting, picking, distribution, or related experience preferred.
Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

Select and verify products using warehouse technology and scanners.
Inspect products for damage or defects.
Prepare customer orders accurately for shipment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Follow safety policies and procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area.
Break down boxes, crush cardboard, and assist with warehouse housekeeping and end-of-shift cleanup.
Assist with other warehouse responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality and report to each scheduled shift prepared to work.
Remain at work until assigned duties are completed and daily operations are complete.
Follow company attendance, scheduling, and call-in procedures and promptly communicate attendance issues.
Maintain reliable transportation and make arrangements to arrive consistently and on time.
Demonstrate flexibility when schedule adjustments are required to support operations.
