About The Position

Lyons Specialty Company is hiring dependable, hardworking Order Selectors for its Warehouse Operations Team. This full-time, on-site role is based at the company’s warehouse in Port Allen, Louisiana. Order Selectors locate, select, handle, verify, and prepare customer orders for next-day delivery in a fast-paced warehouse environment. The work is physically demanding and involves frequent movement, lifting, carrying, and handling of products, along with warehouse housekeeping and end-of-shift cleanup. The position offers paid training and long-term career opportunities with a stable, family-owned company that has served the region for over 100 years. The typical schedule is Monday through Thursday, starting promptly at 11:30 AM and continuing until daily operations are complete. This open-ended schedule may regularly extend into the evening, and workdays or hours may occasionally be adjusted for holidays, weather, customer demand, staffing, or other business needs. Reliable attendance, punctuality, schedule flexibility, and the ability to remain at work until assigned duties are complete are essential. Compensation is $15.00 per hour during training, followed by production-based pay upon successful completion of training. Payroll is bi-weekly by direct deposit.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must successfully pass a criminal background check and pre-employment drug screening.
Basic math and computer skills.
Demonstrated history of dependable attendance and punctuality; able to report on time for all scheduled shifts.
Willingness and ability to work until daily operations are complete, accommodate occasional schedule adjustments, and work an open-ended schedule or extended shifts when business needs require.
Dependable transportation and ability to consistently arrive as scheduled.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods throughout the workday.
Ability to regularly bend, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull, and handle warehouse products and materials.
Ability to frequently lift, carry, move, and handle warehouse products throughout the shift and perform repetitive physical tasks.
Ability to work in a warehouse environment with varying temperatures and perform housekeeping duties, including breaking down boxes and crushing cardboard.
Ability to perform the essential functions of the position, with or without reasonable accommodation, as permitted by applicable law.

Nice To Haves

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Previous warehouse, order selecting, picking, distribution, or related experience preferred.
Experience using RF scanners, handheld devices, or warehouse technology is a plus.

Responsibilities

Select and verify products using warehouse technology and scanners.
Inspect products for damage or defects.
Accurately prepare customer orders for shipment while meeting productivity and quality standards.
Follow all safety policies and procedures.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
Break down boxes, crush cardboard, assist with housekeeping, and participate in end-of-shift cleanup.
Assist with other warehouse responsibilities as assigned.
Maintain dependable attendance and punctuality, follow attendance, scheduling, and call-in procedures, and promptly communicate attendance issues.
Remain at work until assigned duties and daily operations are complete.
Maintain reliable transportation and make necessary arrangements to arrive consistently and on time.
Demonstrate flexibility when schedule adjustments are needed to support business operations.
