About The Position

The Order Processing Specialist is a skilled technical communicator responsible for managing order cleansing and engineering order packet creation. This hybrid role is located at Eaton's Waukesha, WI facility. The primary function involves reviewing and validating quotes and purchase orders for accuracy, collaborating with various departments to resolve discrepancies, and processing customer change orders, holds, and cancellations. The role also supports quotation tools and systems, applies knowledge of transformer industry standards, and acts as a liaison to ensure on-time delivery. Additionally, the specialist will track metrics, analyze data, apply lean principles, and support ISO work instructions.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of product, customer service, inside sales, or proposals experience in a technical field.
  • Excellent oral, interpersonal and written skills with the ability to effectively communicate.
  • Detail oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and work to deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point), SAP or other ERP related system and the ability to utilize such tools to analyze data and solve routine problems.
  • Candidates must reside within a 50-mile radius of Waukesha, WI (Active-Duty Military Service members are exempt).

Responsibilities

  • Review and validate quotes and purchase orders for accuracy (pricing, specifications, quantities, terms, lead times, and special customer requirements).
  • Collaborate with sales, product specialists, engineering, and rep agencies to resolve order discrepancies.
  • Convert quotations to orders and create complete engineering packets, communicating all special design and production requirements.
  • Process customer change orders, holds, and cancellations for open sales orders.
  • Support and provide feedback on quotation tools and systems to ensure accuracy and continuous improvement.
  • Apply knowledge of transformer industry standards (ANSI, IEEE, CSA, NEMA).
  • Act as liaison between engineering, marketing, scheduling, and customers to ensure on‑time delivery.
  • Track metrics, analyze data, apply lean principles, support ISO work instructions, and contribute to team workload completion.
