Order Picker, 1st shift
About The Position
Custom Building Products is seeking an experienced forklift operator for its Frankfort, Indiana plant. This first-shift role is scheduled Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 2:30 PM, with overtime as needed. The Order Picker helps ensure customer satisfaction by shipping and receiving products accurately and on time, and works closely with departments across the facility, including Production and Maintenance. The work involves frequent movement and lifting rather than remaining on a forklift throughout the shift. The position is team-oriented and offers opportunities for career advancement. An increase of up to $1.00 per hour is available after 90 days.
Requirements
- Great work ethic and impeccable attendance.
- Ability to read and understand work orders and complex instructions.
- Proficient operation of a forklift and walkie rider; a driving test will be given at the interview.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
Responsibilities
- Use a forklift or walkie rider to pick, ship, and/or receive products in a timely manner.
- Receive instructions and schedules from plant supervision.
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, orderly work environment.
- Retrieve or put away material using a sit-down industrial forklift.
- Ensure that finished products meet quality standards.
- Lift up to 50 pounds.
