Oracle Technical Project Manager — E-Business Suite and Fusion

Tessera Labs
•$190,000 - $220,000•Remote

About The Position

Tessera Labs is seeking an Oracle Technical Project Manager to manage multiple concurrent Oracle E-Business Suite and Oracle Fusion Cloud engagements from kickoff through go-live. The role owns delivery plans, governance, technical deliverables, testing, data conversion, cutover and customer communications, ensuring engagements meet agreed scope, dates and success criteria. It combines delivery management with hands-on oversight of Oracle project artifacts and workstreams, including RICEFW inventories, specifications, configuration migration, integrations, conversion cycles, test cycles and cutover runbooks. Engagements may include proofs of value, discovery and implementation work, often involving migrations from SAP ECC, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft, Infor or custom systems, as well as environments where EBS and Fusion operate side by side. The role manages several engagements at once and allocates approximately 80% of its time to engagement delivery and 20% to delivery standards, platform input and pre-sales support. The project manager will work with Tessera’s AI agents, Forward Deployed Engineers, domain SMEs, Oracle architects and customers. They will plan review and approval gates for AI-produced work, validate its quality and security, measure its value, and use AI tools in day-to-day planning and reporting. The role also contributes lessons learned and reusable delivery standards to Tessera’s platform and team. The position is remote and open to candidates in Latin America or offshore locations such as India. It requires daily overlap with US business hours—full overlap for near-shore candidates and at least three to four hours for offshore candidates—and occasional travel to customer sites for kickoffs and go-lives. This is a long-term contract, engaged directly or through a staffing partner, with an immediate start.

Requirements

  • At least 12 years of project or program management experience.
  • Experience as project manager on at least three full-lifecycle Oracle ERP implementations, including at least one Oracle E-Business Suite R12.x implementation and at least one Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation.
  • At least one engagement involving a customer moving to Oracle from another ERP, such as SAP ECC, JD Edwards, PeopleSoft or Infor.
  • Hands-on experience managing technical deliverables on Oracle implementations, including RICEFW inventories, functional and technical specifications, configuration migration, data conversion mock cycles, integrations, test cycles and cutover runbooks.
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Unified Method for EBS and Oracle’s cloud implementation approach for Fusion, the Fusion quarterly update cycle and Oracle Support service request management.
  • Practical everyday fluency with generative AI and agentic tools, and experience or a clear point of view on planning and governing delivery where AI produces part of the work.
  • Strong commercial and governance discipline, including budgets, burn and forecasting, change control, RAID management and steering committees.
  • Senior client-facing presence, including the ability to lead steering committees, communicate bad news early and maintain client relationships.
  • Proven ability to run several engagements simultaneously while maintaining control of each.
  • Ability to learn a new AI platform quickly and become fluent in the Tessera platform within the first months.
  • Excellent verbal and written business English and strong presentation skills for business and technical audiences.
  • Experience leading distributed onshore, near-shore and offshore teams, with strong asynchronous communication discipline.
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent practical experience.
  • Ability to work with daily overlap with US business hours: full overlap for near-shore candidates or at least three to four hours for offshore candidates.
  • Availability for occasional travel to customer sites for kickoffs and go-lives.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical or functional Oracle background before moving into project management, such as developer, DBA, data conversion lead or module consultant.
  • Experience running proofs of value or pilot engagements with defined success criteria and measured outcomes.
  • Experience with AI or automation tools in ERP delivery, such as code generation, test automation, data quality or documentation tools, and measuring their impact.
  • Agile or hybrid delivery experience and familiarity with Jira, Smartsheet, MS Project or Confluence.
  • PMP, PRINCE2, PgMP or SAFe certification.
  • Oracle Fusion Cloud implementation certification or Oracle Cloud Success Navigator experience.
  • Experience with large multi-country or multi-entity Oracle rollouts and managing system integrators and staffing partners.
  • Experience running engagements for US or European customers from a near-shore or offshore location.
  • Spanish, Portuguese or German language skills.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and manage several concurrent Oracle engagements, including scope, phases, milestones, dependencies, resourcing and critical paths from discovery and fit-gap through build, testing, conversion, cutover and hypercare.
  • Establish and run governance, including weekly checkpoints, daily execution syncs, steering committees, RAID logs, escalation paths and trustworthy executive status reporting.
  • Manage budgets, burn, forecasts, fixed-fee and time-and-materials commercial terms, change requests and change orders.
  • Agree success criteria for proofs of value and track them through evidence-based close-out.
  • Own RICEFW inventories and move items through specification, build, review, testing and sign-off.
  • Manage functional and technical specifications, code and configuration as deliverables, with quality gates and traceability from requirements to tests.
  • Plan and control environments and configuration movement, including EBS instance strategy, cloning and patch windows, R12.2 online patching, Fusion environment refreshes, Functional Setup Manager migrations and quarterly updates.
  • Manage data conversion workstreams, including mock cycles, reconciliation sign-off, defect tracking and readiness criteria for each load.
  • Coordinate integrations and third-party dependencies, including banks, tax engines, payroll, EDI and legacy systems, along with associated testing.
  • Lead test management for CRPs, SIT, UAT and Fusion quarterly update regression, establishing entry and exit criteria, defect triage cadence and go/no-go evidence.
  • Plan and run cutover through detailed runbooks, rehearsals, go/no-go criteria, rollback and contingency plans, and hypercare.
  • Plan engagements around AI-generated analysis, specifications, configuration, code and test scripts, with appropriate human review and approval gates.
  • Work with Forward Deployed Engineers and domain SMEs to validate AI output and escalate deliverables requiring expert attention.
  • Measure and report AI value, including time and effort saved against a manual baseline, quality and customer-team adoption.
  • Use AI tools in daily work to draft plans, status reports and meeting summaries, analyze risks and dependencies, and prepare steering committee materials.
  • Apply sound judgment to data privacy and security when AI is used with customer data, following customer policies and agreements.
  • Serve as the primary delivery counterpart for customer program offices and IT leadership, building trust and supporting follow-on engagements.
  • Manage customer organizational change and readiness, including training, communications and business sign-offs.
  • Contribute Oracle delivery standards, templates, governance packs, cutover runbooks and lessons learned, and provide field input to the platform team.
  • Support pre-sales with delivery plans, staffing models, timelines and risk assessments for proposals and statements of work.
  • Become fluent in the Tessera platform and help make delivery learnings reusable across engagements.
