About The Position

Performs housekeeping duties as designated to ensure a safe environment by AORN Standards. Works with the surgical team to move large equipment and supplies into the OR to assist in set up. Assists with opening sterile supplies under the direction of the surgical team. Assists in instrument cleaning and sterilization under the direction of the surgical team. Works with the surgical team to remove dirty instruments, suction canisters, and other items as required. Assists the patient care team to ensure smooth operations and focus on customer service. Additionally responsible for vendor management and specialized purchasing orders.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer experience, including proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Proven experience in procurement, inventory management, or supply chain management, preferably in a healthcare setting.
  • Ability to read, write and comprehend medical terminology.
  • Ability to effectively convey verbal and written information.
  • Ability to follow directions.
  • Ability to perform simple mathematical calculations correctly.
  • Ability to respond to emergency situations appropriately.
  • Ability to adapt hours of availability to variable and changing needs of the hospital, including all shifts.
  • Ability to effectively function as a member of a collaborative team.
  • Ability to organize and manage time effectively, setting appropriate priorities.
  • Ability to comply with TJC and OSHA standards.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Nice To Haves

  • Some College coursework in business or related field is preferred.
