About The Position

Eyeglass World, part of National Vision, is seeking an Optometric Technician to support doctors in providing quality eye care. The role helps ensure patients receive high-quality care and that the doctor’s office and pretest room maintain a professional atmosphere. The technician explains preliminary examinations, completes paperwork, performs pre-examination testing, and supports patients throughout the process. The position also involves maintaining accurate records and properly maintained equipment, managing supplies and pharmaceuticals, and following store and corporate procedures.

Responsibilities

Ensure high-quality patient care.
Maintain a professional atmosphere and appearance in the doctor’s office and pretest room.
Understand ocular terminology, diseases, and abbreviations.
Explain preliminary examinations to patients.
Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing before the doctor’s examination.
Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients.
Perform exam pre-screening.
Review prescriptions and patient information carefully and identify special needs.
Consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management when necessary.
Complete referral forms and follow-up paperwork as required.
Maintain accurate and organized patient records.
Ensure doctor’s and pretest equipment is properly maintained.
Order and maintain supplies and pharmaceuticals as directed.
Follow store and corporate policies and procedures.
Participate in regularly scheduled mandatory communications meetings to stay informed about corporate policies and initiatives.
