About The Position
Warby Parker is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Opticians to join its in-house optical team. The Optician helps customers with their eyewear needs, provides knowledgeable guidance on prescriptions and products, and delivers exceptional service. The role includes measuring, adjusting, and fitting eyewear; checking finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements; and helping customers choose frames and lenses suited to their prescriptions, fit, style, and lifestyle. Opticians collaborate with teammates on customer service and sales practices and represent Warby Parker’s brand, values, and mission.
Requirements
- Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in non-licensing states.
- Be passionate about the eyewear and retail industries.
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in an understandable way.
- Be dedicated to going above and beyond to make customers and teammates happy.
- Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt to a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- Be extremely detail-oriented and able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities.
- Be open-minded and committed to continued learning.
- Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
- Check finished eyewear against optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
- Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
- Help customers choose frames and lenses based on prescription needs, fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer service best practices that can be implemented throughout the organization.
- Represent Warby Parker and educate others about its values and mission.
