About The Position
Warby Parker is seeking skilled and enthusiastic Opticians to join its in-house optical team. The Optician helps customers with their eyewear needs and provides exceptional service, while developing expertise in Warby Parker’s brand and products. The role includes measuring, fitting, and adjusting eyewear; ensuring finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements; explaining prescriptions and product offerings; and helping customers select frames and lenses suited to their prescriptions, fit, style, and lifestyle. Opticians collaborate with teammates on customer service and sales practices and represent the company’s values and mission.
Requirements
- Be a licensed dispensing optician in states that require a license, or an ABO-certified optician in states without licensing requirements.
- Have a passion for the eyewear and retail industries.
- Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally, including explaining technical terms in a way customers can understand.
- Be dedicated to exceeding expectations for customers and teammates.
- Be an energetic, positive team player who can adapt in a fast-paced, changing work environment.
- Be detail-oriented and able to juggle a wide range of responsibilities.
- Be open-minded, eager to learn, and willing to challenge existing knowledge.
- Not be listed on the Office of Inspector General's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE).
Responsibilities
- Work directly with customers to meet their eyewear needs.
- Take and record measurements, adjust and fit eyewear accurately.
- Check that finished eyewear meets optical standards and customer requirements and requests.
- Explain prescription terminology and product offerings to customers.
- Work with the team to ensure customers receive exceptional service.
- Help customers select frames and lenses based on prescription needs, face fit, personal style, and lifestyle.
- Collaborate with the team to develop sales and customer service best practices for use throughout the organization.
- Represent the brand and educate others about its values and mission.
