About The Position

The Optical Fabrication CNC Technician works with CNC machines and equipment used in optical fabrication, handling fragile, high-value optics. The role includes setting up and operating CNC machinery, adjusting tools and offsets to maintain part specifications, reading blueprints, programming controllers, measuring workpieces, and documenting work between shifts. The technician collaborates with operators, management, engineers, and colleagues across shifts, while working safely and supporting production priorities and process improvements. The position requires working in a clean-room environment for the duration of the shift, wearing coveralls, hoods, booties, safety glasses, and gloves. The work environment is temperature-controlled with moderate to high noise levels, and may involve exposure to moving mechanical parts, solvents, polishing slurry, tooling, lasers, magnetic fields, open flames, high voltage and currents, and chemicals. Travel may be required depending on business needs. The posting’s title specifies a back-end day schedule of 6:00 AM–6:00 PM on Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and alternate Wednesdays.
