Requirements

  • Must have a valid Driver’s License or other efficient means of transportation to travel for work purposes and be willing to travel.
  • Minimum 3 years of Behavior Analysis professional experience.
  • Master’s degree per BCBA licensure.
  • May be expected to work during emergency situations or natural disasters.
  • Knowledge of Individuals with developmental/intellectual disabilities.
  • Knowledge of Behavior Analytic standards of care, ethical practices, crisis intervention, assessment, interventions, data collection, and data analysis.
  • Knowledge of Florida’s developmental disabilities’ services system, statutes, regulations, and policies related to state facility and community services.
  • Knowledge of Licensure/registration/certification requirements.
  • Ability to Create and maintain Excel spreadsheets.
  • Ability to Develop policies, procedures and standards, compile, organize and analyze data, develop evaluation methodologies and evaluate quality of services and compliance with rules, policies and statutes.
  • Demonstrate Skills in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel, and Teams.
  • Demonstrate Skills in Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Complete all fields in the Candidate Profile, including their work history with the month and year.
  • Participate in the Direct Deposit Program.
  • Undergo Level 2 employment screening.
  • Fingerprinting for Statewide criminal and juvenile records checks through the Florida Department of Law Enforcement and Federal criminal records checks through the Federal Bureau of Investigation and may include local criminal records checks through local law enforcement agencies.
  • Complete the online application process.
  • Complete the employment eligibility verification form (I-9).

Responsibilities

  • Serves as a Senior Behavior Analyst in consultative fashion with the group home providers, behavior analysis providers, state office senior behavior analysis team and community stakeholders to ensure that behavior analysis services are implemented in accordance with statute, rule, regulations and memos of understanding.
  • Coordinates and conducts preliminary reviews of behavior plans and relevant documents for completeness and clinical soundness prior to Local Review Committee (LRC) meetings in the Region.
  • Schedules LRC behavior presentations.
  • Chairs LRC meetings in each field office and actively participates in the review process of behavior plans and service recipient progress.
  • Ensure recording and maintenance of the minutes of the LRC meetings and distribution electronically to providers.
  • Updates the tracking LRC/BASE database and generates all approval documents.
  • Attends any other meeting as appropriate in which behavioral expertise is required.
  • Completes assigned Behavior Analysis Services Eligibility (BASE) forms.
  • Completes Regional determination of eligibility for providers of Intensive Behavior (IB) and Behavior Focus (BF) residential habilitation homes.
  • Collaborates with regional analysts on monitoring of all Intensive Behavior (IB) and Behavior Focused (BF) residents.
  • Provide technical assistance and support to ensure placement is successful.
  • Facilitate resolutions to issues impacting client progress, placement, and health and safety related to behavioral needs.
  • Completes the IB Matrix as assigned.
  • Reviews, compiles, and submits monthly documentation of Provider Reactive Strategies reports in a monthly regional summary report and submits it electronically to the State Office.
  • Initiates and completes all necessary Regional Reactive Strategy follow-up as assigned.
  • Reviews critical incidents.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Assurance team and other regional staff to advise on risk mitigation, health, and safety needs and to address provider /facility concerns expeditiously.
  • Collaborate with APD Regional/facility and State Office staff to immediately address and develop solutions to concerns or issues noted and participate in transitional planning.
  • Provides training and technical assistance sessions to support coordinators, providers and agency staff regarding regulatory practices related to delivery of behavioral services.
  • Participates in Agency Hearings, meetings, and client staffing’s.
  • Provides consultation for Behavior Analysis eligibility reviews, Residential Habilitation Designations, and Significant Additional Needs requests as needed.
  • Completes other duties and assignments/projects assigned to support regional functions.
