About The Position

This position is responsible for performing payroll functions for the unit. This includes processing time and labor and payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy, and entering distributions for all newly hired employees. The role involves reviewing and reconciling departmental paylists bi-weekly to ensure appropriate payroll is calculated, recorded, and disbursed accurately for all employees. Collaboration with the University Human Resource Services office, Payroll office, and other units is essential for accurate and timely processing and coordination of personnel and payroll transactions. The position also handles various payroll-related requests such as emergency payroll checks, wage refunds, on-cycle adjustments, and prior 90-day adjustments. Additionally, it involves processing additional pay personnel transactions for Creative Course instructors, receiving, reconciling, and maintaining leave records for all staff, and communicating with staff supervisors regarding leave use. The role requires generating reports related to human resource functions, creating and disseminating departmental communications specific to payroll, and ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and deadlines. The position will also develop reports, handle special projects, and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant experience
  • Possess a high level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures
