About The Position

This position is responsible for performing payroll functions for the unit. The role involves processing time and labor, payroll transactions, and entering distributions for new hires. The coordinator will review and reconcile departmental paylists bi-weekly to ensure accurate payroll calculations, recording, and disbursement. Collaboration with University Human Resource Services, the Payroll office, and other units is essential for accurate and timely processing of personnel and payroll transactions. The position also handles various payroll-related requests such as emergency checks, wage refunds, and adjustments. Additionally, the role involves processing additional pay for Creative Course instructors, managing leave records, and generating HR-related reports. Communication with staff supervisors regarding employee leave use and disseminating departmental payroll communications are also key responsibilities. Ensuring compliance with university policies and procedures, developing reports, and handling special projects are also part of the role.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of relevant experience

Responsibilities

  • Processing time and labor and payroll transactions, ensuring accuracy
  • Entering distributions for all newly hired employees
  • Reviewing and reconciling departmental paylists bi-weekly ensuring appropriate payroll is calculated, recorded, and disbursed accurately for all employees
  • Collaborating with the University Human Resource Services office, Payroll office, and other units as required to ensure accurate and timely processing and coordination of personnel and payroll transactions
  • Processing various payroll related requests including but not limited to emergency payroll checks, wage refunds, on-cycle adjustments, and prior 90-day adjustments
  • Processing additional pay personnel transactions for Creative Course instructors
  • Receiving, reconciling, and maintaining leave records for all staff
  • Communicating with staff supervisors to ensure understanding of individual employee leave use
  • Generating reports related to human resource functions including but not limited to payroll, leave, and special compensation as needed
  • Creating and disseminating departmental communications specific to payroll functions as needed
  • Ensuring compliance with university policies, procedures, and deadlines
  • Developing reports, handling special projects and other duties as assigned
