About The Position

This position is responsible for reviewing administrative policies, procedures, guidelines, training activities, and operational plans addressing domestic security preparedness and response issues pertaining to coordination of all disciplines and specifically statewide law enforcement initiatives; evaluates impact on operations; identifies potential problems and recommends appropriate action. Develops solutions to the potential problems and new issues for implementation based on agency policies and guidance from immediate supervisors.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as liaison to disaster response agencies and the criminal justice community in general for the coordination of Domestic Security issues including funding, preparedness, planning, training, and exercise.
  • Participating in task-groups, conferences, workshops, committees, and similar activities relevant to assigned projects, planning, and programs at the local, state, and federal levels; Consulting with and/or presenting information to criminal justice personnel and others regarding domestic security issues, research, planning, program development, and services;
  • Coordinating meetings, discussions, review of issues, needs, and programs with FDLE and the general emergency response community;
  • Developing and providing training materials and presentations on program specific issues for the law enforcement and the emergency response community;
  • Serving as the coordinator at the state level for the regional planner positions and will be responsible for gathering regional quarterly reports and writing the Annual Domestic Security and Critical Infrastructure Report;
  • Maintaining the Domestic Security Coordinating Group and membership database;
  • Serving as support staff and operational consultant to law enforcement senior management during response to major issues and incidents;
  • Performing other related activities willingly and in a manner consistent with the professional standards described above where appropriate, or as requested.
