About The Position

The OPS Government Analyst I (GA I) provides essential support in carrying out key organizational functions that advance both internal operations and external initiatives designed to improve the health of Walton County residents. The role is responsible for generating insights, analyses, and recommendations that assist senior leaders and community partners in making informed, strategic decisions to enhance program performance and service delivery. This position works under the supervision of the Public Health Services Manager E-SES and collaborates closely with senior leaders and program managers across the organization. The GA I adheres to all Information Security policies and procedures and serves as the key custodian for assigned information systems and data resources.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of the methods of data collection and analysis.
  • Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
  • Ability to collect, manage, and analyze data to produce and compile meaningful reports.
  • Knowledge of and experience with computers and computer software, including but not limited to: Windows (Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint), Canva, and Adobe Creative Cloud (Photoshop, Illustrator, or inDesign).
  • Ability to utilize problem solving techniques.
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.
  • Valid Driver’s License

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience collecting, compiling, and interpreting public health data
  • Experience with designing reports that communicate complex data that can be understood by the general public.

Responsibilities

  • Supports the DOH‑Walton Workforce Development Team by assisting with planning and coordinating workforce initiatives.
  • Helps develop and implement training materials as assigned.
  • Provides support to the Personnel Liaison during the onboarding process and helps facilitate New Employee Orientation.
  • Assists with organizing the internal leadership development program and other workforce development activities as directed.
  • Assists as a secondary PMQI champion by supporting efforts to review programs, processes, and procedures.
  • Works with management and staff to identify opportunities for improving operations and service delivery.
  • Provides basic technical assistance in the development, implementation, evaluation, and expansion of clinic programs and services.
  • Helps programs with data collection, data analysis, and report preparation to support the identification of root causes and potential improvement solutions.
  • Provides support to health promotion program staff in implementing evidence‑based strategies aimed at improving community health outcomes, including Tobacco Free Florida, Healthy Communities of Florida, and Public Health Preparedness.
  • Assists with preparing routine reports, educational flyers, and related materials to carryout workplans.
  • Participates in community meetings, outreach activities, and events as assigned.
  • Serves as a contributing member of the Walton Community Health Improvement Partnership (WCHIP) Facilitation Team by supporting workgroup activities, conducting basic data collection, and assisting with secondary data analysis.
  • Codes Employee Activity Records (EARs) accurately.
  • As assigned, serves on various committees, teams, and workgroups to support the organization.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
