About The Position

This is an opportunity to serve as a Government Analyst I for the Florida’s Division of Alcoholic Beverage and Tobacco, Bureau of Enforcement, Chief’s Office. This important civilian position serves as the assistant to the Bureau Chief of Law Enforcement, Assistant Chief of Law Enforcement and other Bureau of Law Enforcement staff with administrative tasks which are complex and very broad in nature. This position requires a high degree of tact, competence, customer service and discretion when meeting and communicating with internal and external customers. This position also performs independent research and analysis of data within the Bureau of Law Enforcement. Employees demonstrating the abilities to self-govern, be inquisitive, problem-solve, and remain highly organized excel in this position.

Requirements

  • Must work for the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation
  • Must pass a law enforcement level II background screening.
  • Experience of at least six (6) months working in a state law enforcement environment
  • Ability to use deductive reasoning.
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and maintain attention to detail.
  • Ability to organize data into logical format for presentation in reports, documents, and other written materials.
  • Ability to utilize problem-solving techniques.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
  • Ability to collect, evaluate, and analyze data relating to administrative functions such as accounting, personnel, purchasing or report writing.
  • Ability to understand and apply applicable rules, regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Knowledge of administrative principles and practices
  • Knowledge of office procedures and practices.
  • Knowledge of methods of data collection and principles and techniques of effective communication.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Responsibilities

  • Compiles and validates a variety of reports, timely and accurately
  • Serve as the reporting liaison for the following: Youth tobacco and youth alcohol mandated inspections (sworn), Uniform Crime Reporting (UCR), Underage alcohol and tobacco hotline (SUDS, PUFS)
  • Maintains confidential information and files for the Bureau of Law Enforcement.
  • Prepares, tracks, and documents the issuance of credentials applicable to law enforcement and executive personnel and any associated records
  • Routing of secondary employment, bureau complaints, and other various forms, documents, emails, etc.
  • Provides basic data analysis training to staff as approved by Bureau of Law Enforcement Management
  • Supply purchasing
  • Handle special projects as needed
