About The Position

This open competitive advertisement is for an OPS position located at Suwannee Correctional Institution in the Regional Maintenance Office. The mission of Facilities Management and Building Construction at the Florida Department of Corrections is to provide a safe, secure, and efficient environment for staff, inmates, and visitors. This is achieved through the effective management, maintenance, and construction of correctional facilities, ensuring they meet all regulatory standards and support the department's overall mission of public safety and rehabilitation. This position is not a telework position and is required to report to the FDC office in the area it serves.

Requirements

• At least two (2) years of experience computer experience to include Microsoft Suite.
• At least two (2) years of experience with analyzing data.

Responsibilities

• Conducting on-site walkthroughs and visual inspections of roofs and building interiors and exteriors.
• Locating inventory capital assets and cross-referencing field data with existing records.
• Utilizing state-issued tablets to input information into AIM (Facility Force) including condition ratings, remaining useful life, and detailed photographic evidence of asset conditions.
• Providing cost estimated for the repair or replacement of deficient building components.
• Perform thorough walkthroughs and visual evaluations of building structures, including roofs, interiors, and exteriors.
• Locate and verify capital assets, ensuring field data aligns with existing inventory documentation.
• Utilize state-issued tablets to document asset conditions, input ratings, and upload photographic evidence into AIM (Facility Force).
• Prepare and provide cost estimates for repairs or replacements of building components identified as deficient.
• Engage in extensive walking, ladder climbing, and statewide travel to complete inspection and assessment duties.
