About The Position

The Florida Highway Patrol's Sanford Regional Communications Center is recruiting applicants for the OPS Law Enforcement Call Taker position. This position pays $18/hr. Members will work at least 40 hours per week. This position is ideal for students or for those seeking supplemental income. Job duties include answering emergency and non-emergency phone lines, including 911 transfer and FHP calls. This position requires prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and utilizing a computer and telephone.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • A High School diploma or G.E.D. equivalent required.
  • Potential candidates will be required to successfully pass CritiCall (call simulation testing) prior to interview.
  • The position you are applying is subject to a Level 2 background along with Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) and State Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) security clearance, to include a fingerprint-based check of the criminal records of the FBI, as a condition of employment pursuant to Chapter 110.1127, 435 and 943, Florida Statutes.
  • Must successfully complete a Drug Test, Psychological, Vision, and Hearing Examination.
