Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in accounting or financial management, with one (1) year of experience processing revenues, reimbursements, billing, or financial reporting.
  • A bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university may be used in lieu of one (1) year of the required experience in processing revenues, reimbursements, billing, or financial reporting.
  • Satisfactory criminal history check (fingerprint-based) in accordance with Chapter 435, Florida Statutes.
  • Ability to think critically to solve complex problems.
  • Ability to perform accurately in a detailed oriented environment.
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and perform multiple work assignments simultaneously.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Knowledge of and ability to interpret and apply related federal, state and local laws, ordinances, rules and regulations.
  • Knowledge of and the ability to interpret and apply related policies, procedures, principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of applicable computer applications and basic computer functions.
  • Knowledge of electronic data processing as it applies to fiscal and accounting activities.
  • Knowledge of the concepts, principles and practices of financial data collection and report preparation.
  • Knowledge of accounting systems and practices.

Responsibilities

  • Complete training and attain proficiency in the Florida PALM accounting system.
  • Prepare and record daily deposit transactions in Florida Accounting Information Resource (FLAIR).
  • Maintain and ensure documentation for all transactions are uploaded to Laserfiche document management system.
  • Assist with performing daily and monthly reconciliations for Revenue transactions as needed.
  • Organize and maintain source documents and deposit files in the agencies’ document management system.
  • Ensure that documents are prepared for voucher submittal for Expenditure Refunds/Reimbursements.
  • Run the Debit Memo report from PALM daily.
  • Prepare information on Returned items and add to the delinquent account tracking list.
  • Perform due diligence to collect delinquent monies.
  • Monitor delinquent account activity to ensure accounts are submitted to Collections timely per F.S. 215.34 (2).
  • Clearly and effectively communicate internally and externally.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
