This role is responsible for assisting the clinical provider with patient care including patient work-ups, diagnostic testing procedures, and administrative tasks. Responsible for daily patient care and flow of assigned clinic. Position requires good understanding of ophthalmic practice and patient care. Demonstrates working knowledge of eye anatomy, disease, symptoms, and ocular medications. Knowledge of ophthalmic instrumentation and its proper care and usage needed. Ability to assess common safety hazards and take precautions to establish a safe work environment required. Ability to communicate with patients, coworkers and supervisor is critical. Must be willing to help in all areas and understand the need for efficient use of time. Travel to satellite offices in Pennsylvania and/or New Jersey is a requirement for this position. In addition to the main Buerger location, staff are required to cover satellite locations, including outpatient clinics across New Jersey and Pennsylvania. New Jersey sites include Virtua Voorhees, Mays Landing (Atlantic County), and Princeton. Pennsylvania sites include Abington, Chalfont, Brandywine Valley, Exton, King of Prussia, and Lancaster. Five 8-hour shifts per week; flexibility is required as clinic needs may occasionally necessitate longer shifts. Typical hours range from 7:00 AM–4:30 PM, with some shifts extending until clinic close.
